When Aloud. was conceived, towards the end of 2010, it embodied a personal and intense questioning about the notions of ambition, work, independence, fulfillment and many others.
I have always had a natural admiration and curiosity for people who, in my opinion, march to the beat of their own drum, no matter how, no matter what.
Like you would ask a chef, I wanted to know their secrets, their recipe, so I, too, could learn how to master the complex dish my life sometimes feels like. Not too salty, not too sweet, just right.
Of course, it was never going to work. I could have known that when you ask too many questions, you just end up with more unanswered ones.
I should have also predicted that after just a handful of interviews, I would be surprised and amazed by what I heard, I would want to know more and ask the same questions over and over, just to see what each person would say.
This is the power of individuality. You can ask the same thing to 50 people and you will never get the same answer twice. I feel that Aloud. has given me the chance to enter into a secret vault behind a spinning bookcase and I am so excited to keep sharing these small discoveries well into 2011 and longer if I can.
Over the last few weeks, I have heard many different opinions but there is one question everyone agrees on. “Is the risk worth the reward?” Yes, Yes,YES. I will keep asking it until it becomes an evidence.
